Before and After: Tiny House Through Time

I was finally able to put some before and after images together. It’s really not that tough, I’ve just been too busy to actually get on a computer!  We had a great showing at the open house.  Now that that is past I can get back to the business of blogging! 🙂

Marc come out and shoot the tiny house renovation/addition again, he does great work!  I put some of the shots side by side so you can see the difference after 2.5 years and a renovation!  I have to say, I am more surprised by what hasn’t changed than by what has!  We have a really cool renovation but the details are all the same. I still have the same set up on my pots and pans for crying out loud!  And the furniture is mostly the same.  Seems weird for me, a person who likes change!  🙂  Take a look, I hope you like seeing the house adapt as much as we do!

  1. Cool to see all the side-by-side comparison! Kudos for transforming your tiny as your family grows, it’s quite a remarkable transition.

  2. What happened to your dining table and work surface? Where will you do these things? The transition from single to family is great. Wish you could have kept the same siding though so it looked less as an add-on.

  3. Thanks – the comparison helps note lots of little details, like moving the shower curtain rod. Yours is my fav design overall that I’ve seen.

  4. Omgoodness it came out so very nice!! I love the little sleeping alcove for Miss Hazel-that’s a wonderful idea!! Same pots & pans-haha!! Best wishes and health for your beautiful little “growing” family-fondly,Rain

  5. Good plan that you have children sleeping area far from the parents bedroom.
And the new blinds instead of curtains, better light controls and privately. Well done!

    1. I don’t know that it is ‘far’ by standar housing definitions, I kinda like having them nearby though! 😉

  6. It looks so polished and lovely. I was reminded, looking at these pictures, of my parent’s first home where they lived with two small children. It was an airstream and not much bigger than your house. For those people who go on about how cramped your living situation must be I have a question. When did it become such an outrageous idea to live so simply? People have done it for ages. I have always loved your home.

  7. I know this is a bit late but I was wondering if you could tell me whether your childrens beds are twin sized or more the size of a toddler mattress? I’m also wondering what is opposite their beds since that side of the room isn’t shown in the photos. I’m guessing a closet?

    1. It CAN be upsized to twins if needed, I would lose the door but I left it where twin bunks can fit if we get to that point. And its’s just open, play area currently 🙂

    1. Yes! I was going to add a chest of drawers but the kiddos had so much fun playing in that little area that I decided to fit their clothes in elsewhere and leave it as a play space!
