This Week Could Change Tiny Homes Nationwide

Tomorrow at 6am, my family begins a 17-hour journey to Hartford, Connecticut.
We’re heading there to testify on something we care deeply about: adding model code language for tiny homes on wheels into the International Residential Code (IRC).
On Tuesday, we’ll spend the day meeting with advocates from across the country, aligning our efforts and preparing our case.
On Wednesday, our proposal goes before the voting body where it will need a 2/3 majority to pass.
One of the most powerful things we can bring into that room isn’t just our testimony – it’s you.
Right now, we are less than 1,300 signatures away from our goal.
You can help us substantially by signing this public support petition.
Being able to say this movement is backed not just by a handful of advocates, but by 15,000 people across all 50 states, matters. It shows that this is real, widespread, and deeply supported.
If you can find support for this in the form of signatures, we would all be grateful!
What’s at stake?
A major code hearing on April 22 could shape the future of tiny homes on wheels across the U.S., including:
- A clear definition for relocatable tiny homes
- Fewer gray areas around where they can be placed
- More consistent, realistic standards for living tiny
This is about creating a legitimate, safe, and accessible pathway for a housing option that already exists – and is only growing.

If tiny homes mean something to you – whether that’s affordability, flexibility, or simply living with less – this is a moment to show it.
Sign the petition. Share it with a friend. Help us close the gap.
While we’re in Hartford, we’ll be deep in coordination and won’t be able to push this forward in the same way – so your help in this final stretch really matters.
Thank you for being part of this.
