Update 4.26.13
Baseboard and interior trim is up! Tomorrow I was planning on working on siding but its going to be way too nice to be cooped up in the shop planning and ripping wood… I think I will work on the shower tiles a bit more. If I can get that all done tomorrow I can grout sunday, that would be pretty cool :). Be back soon, here are some pictures:

Because nothing is done the easy way with me... I am getting ready to tile the shower which will be the same tile and pattern as my floor but I want a different scale for the 'pretty effect' so I am quartering the tiles... long but easy enough process

So, I made kinda a decent sized error... for the horizontal surfaces I used mortar for ceramic tiles... I didn't realize there there was a difference, I have porcelain tiles... I googled the effects and I think I will be fine on the floor, I may pop a tile or two... turns out the ceramic mortar doesnt bond as well to porcelain, I would have been screwed had I used that on the vertical surfaces. Glad I caught it when I did!

And my grout, soon...

And you know what else came in the mail?? My water heater!

Trim boards are up with the nail holes filled and the first coat of paint

I am going to caulk the edges so its less visible but I like the simplicity

And the other door, this one was a little more tricky because its an inward swinging door

measuring up the baseboard trim piece.

First baseboard installed. I think it will work 🙂

On the other side I left a gap where my sliding bookshelf will go so that when its in place the base will butt up right to the bookshelf.

Close-up of the baseboard.

Installed all over!

even in the bathroom! 🙂
It’s looking great, Macy!
