Update 4.21.13

Just a quick updated tonight with a bit of a sneak peak at some tiles!  James helped me this weekend after the Idaho Green Festival (which was a really awesome event, way to go Kelsey, you’re a rock star!), we got a really great jump on tiling.  The floor is not about 70% done and I have to say, it is going to look awesome! Also, I think I bought WAYYY too much tile so I may be getting a refund soon making my house a bit cheaper 🙂

Also, I wanted to share the presentation I put together this weekend for the Green Fest, here it is.  FYI, Prezi.com is just awesome, suck a cool alternative to PowerPoint. See the presentation below.

I was pretty stoked to meet a pretty awesome local guy who just bought a pretty bad ass vintage trailer this last week for living.  He’s got  pretty great story, I’m not sure of his facebook settings but you can see him HERE, if they aren’t public he posted some images on my facebook page where you can check his RV out, only 70 were made and his is adorable and in GREAT shape!

ALSO!  Big weekend, I know, Ms. Stacey is kicking off her build, another awesome Boise project, I will post a link to her site as soon as it’s live but for now follow her on facebook HERE.  Will be awesomeness!

Here are some pictures from the weekend.

  1. Yay, how exciting to see the tile, Macy! I was totally surprised how long our bathroom tiling took. It looks so easy when they fast-forward it on HGTV! And our tiles ended up all wonky. We were so tired afterwards, we decided not to tile our own shower, and got a professional.

  2. We’re considering doing tile in our tiny bathroom but have some reservations. Are you worried at all about weight or tiles or grout cracking when moved? Would love to hear your thoughts on this!

    1. Hi Esther! I am not concerned about weight, I originally intended to use concrete in the floors so i added a triple axle, going with the tile I am about 3000 # lighter at least. I am however concerned about it popping tiles out a bit, I put 1 1/2″ of subfloor to hopefully make it more rigid and mitigate this a little but it is still a possibility, but a risk worth taking to me. I am a bit more concerned about the shower which will also be tiled but I suppose we will see how it goes :). I don’t plan on moving it much and if there is damage at least I know I can fix it 🙂
