Tiny House Remodel
I have undergone a little bit of a tiny house remodel. It’s been a long time coming, I have been needing to add a rail to my bed so that little miss Hazel didn’t take a digger. About two weeks ago we were playing in the bed, I went and got a bowl of cereal, came back and she had moved like 3 feet! My mind went ‘UH-OH! gotta get on that rail!’ So, away I went. I was not convinced it was going to turn out well throughout the building process but I have to say, I am happy with how it turned out! I actually like the looks of it and I like the feel of it! It gives the bedroom a touch more privacy. AND I love my new family photos!
Putting together the gate.
I started with 13 2x1 sticks of poplar and 2 4x1 sticks.
Coming together
I glued all the pieces together
reinforced them with some 1 bys
and voila! A wall
Here is a detail shot of how it goes together, its very sturdy
The before shot (Im not this good of a photographer so bear with me
And after!
I moved my tv and mounted it on this wall, along with some family photos. The gate is hug with some heavy duty drawer rollers
And the media center 'before'
and after, I added a shelf and some toy boxes for Hazel
This was my moms day gift, I liked it but I thought I would get more to have some family pictures on the wall

It looks great!! Love the photos as always! 🙂 They grow up too fast!
Love it, Macy! The photos are gorgeous.
I’ve gotta say, that looks really incredible. I’m a stickler for hiding wires, so the TV looks even more impressive with no dangling wires! But that divider… just looks SLICK. Very nicely done!
Looks awesome! I love it!
fantastic job and I love the photos!
Macy I didn’t think you could improve your design any more but you did! It’s absolutely gorgeous. And those photos… so nice, great job.
I love this! It’s so clever! Is there any way that we can see the view from when you’re sitting in bed, what it looks like from the other side?
I will get a picture of that and post it! Sorry I didn’t include it in the original!
Beautiful! I’m not that creative or driven so I cheated and bought a used 38′ fifth wheel RV which I find quite roomy and comfortable. I did require that it had a washer and dryer as I hate laundry mats though. Plus with a self contained fifth wheel I can travel with it if I get the urge.
