Update 4.27.13
In no particular order, this is the days happenings :):

Cleaning up the tile, lots of rounds of water/mop/towel

I asked James if he could mix the grout by hand, I mean using a trowel and not the drill paddle set-up we've been using... I think it was taken too literally ๐ It was going to happen anyway with the process though, note to self, wear gloves when grouting with a dark color.

his, all mixed up

hers, all mixed up, I was working on the shower while James grouted.

James's progress, he got about a third of the floor grouted and helped me cut some tiles

my progress in the shower. I made it about a third of the way up the walls in the shower

It's not really white like this, its all leftover from the cutting

Starting to cut the larger tiles down to the shower size. Turns out a few people think im crazy for taking the time to cut these up instead of just usig the full tiles... its one of those 'for looks' things though, i think it will look a lot better to have the smaller scale, it's worth it

keeps going, it was aabout three hours of extra time and a blade, totally worth it

I also got a couch!

Tobi ad James approve ๐ Its just the rigth size and style I want, not the best fabric but it is 'decent' and that is an easy project for the future.

And guess what, its a spare bed too for those late night partiers... there is even room for it to open, just barely.

The shower step

Cut tiles

First round of mortar

I thought of a cool way to do the border, I think, ill show you when it's done... ๐

another getting started image

And James's hands after washing them a million times... ๐
Tiling is really coming along, looks great. Dark grout has a lot of pigments tell James it will wear off eventually.
Thank you!
You have done really a great job!
