Exterior Alternative Design
I really like the color and texture of this! I am wondering if I should change to something a little more this style for the exterior, love the natural wood, the tone of the green and the Black accent trim… The pallets I’ve already got wouldn’t be wasted by any means, I have plenty going on inside my tiny house with those! What do you guys think? It would probably save a TON of time too…

hey Macy! I just saw this post about exterior design. we were looking at doing some large panels too – maybe Hardie Panel, smooth finish, 4×8 sheets with some reveals between, or just black tar paper behind and leave a reveal between sheets. we decided against it though… they’re 2.6 lbs / sf… and pricey. but it would look really nice I think; to have large panels on the exterior; very clean and modern. can’t wait to see what you decide….
The Hardie Panels are very heavy with the concrete stuff in them, is that the ones you were looking at? My original idea was to use recycled pallet wood, there were some concerns about the durability, I was thinking I may go with a lower quality panel though and be able to cut some of the weight out, I haven’t really looked into it yet though so I can’t guess at the weight, might be a really good point to consider! Thanks for the comment, I’m curious, what are you guys going with on yours?
