I got the majority of the cracks filled in. I have done some research, it seems you should either have a membrane behind the board or cover it with a membrane on top. I obviously don't have a membrane behind and was looking at redguard for a membrane on top but also found some mixtures you can add to the thinset that claim to do the same thing and make a water barrier. Does anyone have any experience with this they can share?
