I do not have a smoke detector, I find them to be far more irritating than they are helpful. I can see the entire house from wherever in it I stand, if I were to have isolated rooms I would have done things differently but i think my nose and eyes are going to be what I need. I may change my mind later on that but it was actually a calculated decision to not get a smoke detector. Some will disagree with my logic.
